His daughter Virginia received land to take care of him. The entire home property, including the parcel of land traded on 30 Mar 1872 is referenced in this transfer to Lucy Carter. The piece of land William Home received was on the land “lying on the north side of the Main Road leading from Boydton to Petersburg, the same being a small strip and a portion of the land conveyed to the Elders of the said Presbyterian church.”

1831: An official Church History in the church records said 18 Apr 1831, Boydton Church was established as a separate church.

The church was renovated and rededicated 18 Jun 1967. Reverend J. T. Echols gave the blessing and benediction. Mrs. Sutton played the organ prelude. The flowers on the piano were donated in memory of Mr. L. P. Webb Sr, by his daughter, Mrs. Glass. Dr. W. W. Glass gave the pastoral prayer. Dr. R. M. Crowe gave the sermon and scripture reading. Reverend D. Ronald Glover gave the offertory prayer. Mr. F. C. Bedinger Sr. gave the welcome.

William Home traded land with the church in 1872. There was a public school on land adjoining the church in 1881, but it was not known if it was part of the church.
