Julie's Mecklenburg, Virginia Discoveries

I normally send things as a post, but I couldn’t get this to format correctly for email, so I made a page instead. There are a number of columns, charts and maps. I began with a curiosity about the old place names. I wondered how many place names used to have a post office there?

I moved to Stafford County, Virginia in 1993. There were only 2 post offices open for the whole county then, while Mecklenburg had 11. I found the names of 118 old post offices, past and present, with 73 post offices open at the same time (1906) in Mecklenburg County!
